Dr Wilkins is a global legal executive at Hitachi Energy, HQ Zurich, Switzerland. At Hitachi Energy, we are advancing the world’s energy system to be more sustainable, flexible and secure. As the pioneering technology leader, Hitachi Energy collaborate with customers and partners to enable a sustainable energy future. Driving all strategic legal and IP matters from portfolio development to litigation, anti-trust and M&A, together with her global team, she devises purpose driven IP strategies to maximise value of IP portfolios. She has experience in patent monetisation and patent licensing. As part of the legal leadership team, she contributes to transforming the legal function so that our team can adapt to meet the demands of a business contributing to the electricity supercycle where electricity transmission and distribution are projected to expand threefold by 2050. Before joining Hitachi Energy, Georgina worked for a global material solutions company in disruptive technologies, creating IP strategies around evolving business requirements and managing IP risk management and conflicts and she also worked as a university lecturer. Dr Wilkins is a UK qualified chartered patent attorney, European patent attorney, holds a legal degree from the University of Manchester, UK and a PhD and master’s degree in physics and electronics from the University of Leeds, UK.
